POLYGAMY IS AN ADVANTAGE TO INNOCENT WOMEN

We live in a world of great ironies and paradoxes. One of such is the concomitant desperacy of men to add more wives to the first and the desperacy of women to resist having any one as co-wives under their men. It is interesting to know that both genders are acting on their natural instincts and emotions. God created these irresistible urges in them. It would therefore be unfair and thoughtless to blame them or refuse to accept their dispositions towards these behavours. Man loves sex. He also loves food. No one is loved by him than the one who readily offers him both. Man is ordinarily solid in nature. He is liquefied at the instant of food and sex. His solidity is put to test when denied both or either of these needs. Much like he does not like to taste one meal all the time, he dislikes having the same women beside him repeatedly for many years (He may only pretend not to because he has some incapabilities). Therefore, he desperately wants to have the experience of how it tast...

THE SILENT FACE OF INSECURITY

THE SILENT FACE OF INSECURITY Uncleyat Peace_lifeseries@yahoo.com 22/03/2018 As I walk forth and back daily between the public space and the confine of my home, my concern and worry add new heights. They grow everyday with no sign of dwindling. My heart bleeds that people are no longer safe anywhere and everywhere in my country. Hunger, burglary and robbery were the common initial experiences I grew up with as a teenager. These monsters of living experiences were notably pronounced in the late 80’s. One thought it was a violent whirlwind in those hot days that would soon give way to the calmness of the dawn. Sadly, the legacy of that leadership and what followed actually set this nation on a dangerous and destructive path. Today, over twenty years down the memory lane, we are in a serious mess of insecurity. The monster that visited people in their homes in those days has daringly taken over the farms, schools, markets, highways and workplaces. Cultism which used to be a local...

AMASA FIRDAUS: A MODEL FOR NIGERIAN YOUTHS

AMASA FIRDAUS: A MODEL FOR NIGERIAN YOUTHS University education and indeed at tertiary levels is targeted at developing minds. The one who had passed through that stage and undergone such process is expected to be creative, self dependent and above all, have self confidence and self discovery. He/she has been  adjudged and certified to have fair capacity to make decisions in the face of challenges and confrontations. Whether in law, engineering, medicine, accounting or education, the academic and research outputs that he/she had delivered are assumed to be adequate enough for the good assessment of the state of his/her memory and depth of his/her thought. He/she is expected to be logical and decisive, not to be naive and ridiculous. However, this seems to be lost in Nigeria. A number of Nigerian youths with their loads of degrees are cheap and self-lost. They cannot simply think out of box. They follow what is in vogue and not what is absolutely a reality and logic. It is eit...

The True Religion in Nigeria

THE TRUE RELIGION IN NIGERIA In the most preponderant estimation, there are about 4200 religions in the world. I doubt if this count includes the faith and creed of 80% of Nigerians. Out of all, Islam and Christianity have registered their domination. However, the question of which of these is the most prominent and dominant in Nigeria has been a subject of an unending debate. Meanwhile, the hard truth is that the majority of Nigerian population belongs to neither of both religions.  Only few Nigerians practice in truth ideal Islam or Christianity. In the most obvious terms, an average Nigerian may be a doctrinal zealot, a prayer warrior or evangelization enthusiast. He may pledge fanatical defence of his faith at the last drop of his blood. Phew! He has no genuine spirit of a Muslim or Christian. Whoever thinks of four out of five Nigerians, that all their strive in the church or ...
